Test Format
The Test of English for Aeronautical Communication (TEAC) is a plain English for Aviation language testing system designed to assess the English language proficiency (ELP) of aviation personnel for ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements compliance.
Duration
The TEAC is a human interaction test between 1 candidate and 1 examiner, and takes approximately 30 minutes. Test tasks are focussed as much as possible on contexts relevant to a candidate’s aviation role and experience. It is not a test of operational knowledge, but operational contexts and technical references are used to make sure that the ELP being assessed is appropriate.
Compliance with ICAO & EASA
Tests are produced with aviation professional input, and performances are assessed by 1 aviation professional and 1 language expert. The TEAC complies in all respects with the Test Service Provider requirements contained in ICAO Document 9835 ‘Manual on the implementation of the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements’ (ICAO 9835), and EASA Part FCL.055 and related, published AMCs 1, 2 and 3.
Where: You can take the test in Barcelona City, Aeroclub Barcelona-Sabadell in Sabadell Airport or in La Cerdanya Aerodrome.
Pricing: 180 € (VAT Excluded). You will receive an e-PDF Certificate within a maximum of two weeks. Express certificates are also available. Express service (certificate processing guaranteed within 5 working days) for 25€ | Express Plus service (processing is guaranteed within 3 working days) for 50€ | Paper certificates (couriered within 10 working days to the TEAC Centre) for 50€.
More details on how to book a test
1. Create a TEAC Candidate account:
· Click on the «Book your test» button
· Register the ID document you will bring to the test
· Save your password to your device
· Check your email Inbox to find the confirmation email “Lenguax Account created”.
2. Book a Test:
· Log into your account at https://teac.lenguax.com/booking/
· Click Book a Test
· Step 1: Select EASA (and click YES if your licence is issued by DGAC France)
· Step 2: Select Spain as the country
· Step 3: Select Aeroclub Barcelona or Aeroclub Cerdanya as test centre depending on your preference
· Step 4: Select the test version most suitable to your role/experience
· Step 5: Select the date and session (the Centre will confirm the exact time later)
· Step 6: If the regular service is not suitable, select the service you want to pay for:
– for an Express Service +€25
– for an Express Plus Service +€50
– for a Paper Certificate +€50
· Step 7: Check the first box (“I hereby agree that the information…”). Decide yourself whether to check the box below (“I agree that Lenguax may…”)
3. Finally: Go to your email account Inbox and find the “ACTION REQUIRED” email from the booking system. To confirm that you want to proceed with the booking, click the link after “To confirm that your account and your TEAC booking request is genuine please click this link”.
This will confirm the booking with your TEAC Centre. The Centre will then Accept the booking [you will receive an automated email to confirm that], and will later email you details about the test time, the venue, the payment, and how to prepare for the test.
